Quick answer: an 18″ base cabinet takes Rev-A-Shelf’s two-bin trash pull-out (4WCSC-1835DM-2, two 35 qt bins, $575.99 list). A 36″ sink base takes its U-shaped pull-out shelf, which fits around the pipes, and an 18″ tall pantry with a 75″ door opening takes a six-shelf pull-out pantry. List your own cabinets above: every fit comes from the maker’s own size search.

How to use the cabinet pull-out planner

    1. List your cabinets, left to right. Choose each one’s kind: a base cabinet with a drawer over a door, a base with one tall door, a sink base, a tall pantry or a drawer base. Then choose its width, the size it was sold as: 9″ to 42″ in 3″ steps, or the nearest centimetres.
    2. Choose face frame or frameless. A face frame is the wood border around the doors, and it narrows the opening. Rev-A-Shelf lists some parts for one front only.
    3. For a tall pantry, give the door opening’s height. Each pull-out pantry frame adjusts within its own range of heights.
    4. Each row offers every kind of pull-out Rev-A-Shelf lists for that cabinet, the biggest of each kind. Pick one per cabinet. You get the part number, the list price, the maker’s own words, a drawing to scale and one shopping list. Copy link keeps your plan. The green button opens the corner cabinet organizer finder.

Base cabinets: what fits each width

These are Rev-A-Shelf’s own fits for a face-frame base cabinet with a drawer over a door. A part fits when the maker’s Search By Cabinet Size lists it for that width. Of each kind, the planner picks the one made for the widest cabinet.

A 24″ or wider base also takes the trash, recycling and compost pull-out (4WCWM-2435DMSC-4, $679.99). The widest pull-out shelf, 5330-33BCSC-MP ($586.99), is “Designed for a cabinet opening width of 32-1/2″ to 36″”. In a frameless cabinet the wire pots-and-pans pull-outs and the 5330 shelves drop out, because they are listed for face frames only. A 24″ frameless base takes the 4CW2-24SC-1 ($868.99) instead.

The maker gives each frame as a range, for example “Adjustable frame height: 73-5/8″ to 80-3/4″”. No frame covers 65¾″ to 73⅝″. An opening in that gap takes the 5758, which at its tallest is shorter than the opening, and the planner says by how much. The 9″ 5743 is listed for face-frame cabinets only.

Under the sink and in the drawers

Rev-A-Shelf’s sink base pull-outs (face frame or frameless): each wider sink base also takes the rows above it

Rev-A-Shelf on the U-shaped pull-out: “Unique U-Shaped frame fits plumbing and garbage disposal.” In a drawer base, cutlery inserts fit 15″ to 24″ drawers ($106.99–$161.99, with separate frameless sizes) and spice inserts fit 18″ and 24″ drawers. Deep drawer dividers fit 24″ to 36″ drawers ($182.99–$253.99) and “can be trimmed to fit smaller sizes”.

    Worked examples

    • Six face-frame cabinets: an 18″ tall pantry with a 75″ opening, a 9″ base, a 24″ base, a 36″ sink base, an 18″ base and a 30″ drawer base. They take a pull-out pantry (5773-14-CR-1), a narrow pull-out, pots and pans (5CW2-2122SC-CR), the U-shaped sink shelf, trash and recycling (4WCSC-1835DM-2) and drawer dividers: $3,830.94 at list. The same run frameless is $4,250.94, because the 24″ base takes the 4CW2-24SC-1.
    • A small kitchen: a 15″ base, a 30″ sink base and a 12″ base set to its narrow pull-out take two 27 qt bins, two-tier wire baskets beside the pipes and an 8″ narrow pull-out: $1,129.97.
    • A 24″ tall pantry with a 70″ opening: the five-shelf 5758-20-CR-1 ($1,622.99). Its frame tops out 4¼″ under the opening. A 40″ opening takes none, because the shortest frame starts at 43⅜″.
    • In centimetres: a 60 cm base takes the parts for a 21″ cabinet (60 cm is 23⅝″), such as two 35 qt bins (4WCSC-2135DM-2).

    Common mistakes

    • Buying by the cabinet’s width alone. A face frame narrows the opening: the 18″ trash pull-out is “Designed for 18″ base cabinets with a 15″ W opening”.
    • Forgetting what sticks in. Rev-A-Shelf: “Double check that the product is within your measurements and don’t forget to take into account any obstructions (plumbing, hinges, etc.).”
    • A face-frame part in a frameless cabinet. The wire pots-and-pans pull-outs are listed for face frames only.
    • The wrong pantry frame. Measure the door opening from top to bottom before you choose a series.
